2017-18 ART SCHEDULE
Welcome to 2017-2018 ART
About the Art Room Welcome to Art at Wexler Grant Community School. I am excited to start my eighth year as part of the Wexler Grant family. Personally, this has been an exciting summer for my husband and I as our oldest daughter Danielle graduated from James Madison University with her masters degree in Education, she will begin teaching 4th grade in Virginia this year. In August, we moved our son Ryan to The University of Alabama to start his sophomore year. Meanwhile our youngest, Griffin will be starting his freshmen year at Penn State University.
As we start the new school year we will begin by getting to know each other. We will also be very busy learning the rules and routines in the art room. We will work hard and review the expectations of our PRIDE Program. Pride “Promise to Ride your Star to Success”. Pride is a way to share expectations with students throughout the school and recognize positive choices. Circles will also continue to be an important part of our commitment to building a community in the art room.
My grading policy and most art routines and expectations will remain the same as years past. This makes it easier for students to come back and feel comfortable and ready to show their creativity. While many things will remain the same, as always I will be introducing some fun new things into their experience in art. In addition, I look forward to hearing my students' thoughts and ideas. Looking forward to a great year!
